Profile

Carcassing and stud partitions are generally known as stud-work. A plasterer uses a tool called a hawk in his left hand, and a trowel in his right hand. Our name derives from these two terms. Studhawk is our registered trademark.

The Studhawk guides a saw to aid cutting wood accurately. Simply rub the saw blade gently across the Studhawk’s face. With a Studhawk, cutting straight is made as simple as rubbing the palms of your hands together.

When using frame saws, time is wasted putting the wood in the tool. Further time is wasted aligning the blade with the pencil mark on the wood. Moreover a Mitre box limits the size of wood you can cut. Placing a Studhawk on the wood saves time and effort.
